I have been working as an upholsterer for 30 years plus, both traditional and modern upholstery, leather work, chair restoration, cane, rush, Danish cord and seagrass. Anything to do with a chair or sofa basically!

About Us

Work has been extremely varied over the years, one of the joys of upholstery. I work for private clients bringing back to life much loved furniture and family pieces, making window seats and banquettes to fit all manner of household corners, to work for designers and artists as well as contract work. I offer a personal service where materials and fabrics can be discussed, using techniques and materials relevant to your piece of furniture.

Colleges and offer tuition in my workshop for a min/max 2 people.

Sustainability

Sustainability – Traditional upholstery is rather unique in that all materials are natural and compostable, modern upholstery is slightly more challenging, foam is an essential part of modern furniture historically but I’m always looking and trying new alternatives or using traditional techniques in different ways. I have worked on Vegan suites, sustainable cushions, wool mattrasses, using traditional techniques to create wild and wonderful pieces like The Tea Cup Chair. All options can be discussed and always open to new ideas and ways to build beautiful furniture.
